There are many options for home flooring; it is just a matter of personal taste. You can choose between carpet, tile, area rugs, hard woods, cement, or laminates. Do you like warm and homey or ease when cleaning or the warm look of wood? Is your home casual or more formal?
Flooring is as personal as the people who live in the home. For decades carpet has been the flooring of choice for Americans but hasn't been so for the rest of the world. Cement, dirt, laminates or tile grace the floor of most other countries.
Americans like to have warm, comfortable, floppable flooring. Soothing to the legs and soft to the touch. Tile is beautiful, lasting and very easy to clean, but without area rugs it can be very hard on legs. Wood is warm and beautiful but be careful in high water areas like kitchens and bathrooms and entry ways in snowy or rainy locations. The wood floors in our high traffic entryway only lasted about three years due to the water damage. Carpet in Dayton is a good idea mixed with a little tile for high traffic areas.
Flooring is all about choice; laminates work well and are less expensive than their counterparts, especially in kitchens for softer under footing and easy clean up. Tile is beautiful and comes in a myriad of colors and styles. Cement flooring is becoming increasingly popular, especially in basements or recreation rooms. It last forever and is easy to clean, but I wouldn't want to stand on it every day.
Whatever your personality, whatever your preferences; tile, laminate, wood, cement or carpet in Dayton will work well. Mix and match for the perfect fit.
